The music of the last drops [Updated]

During the grand final years' night at my college, the theme song for our batch (class of 2011) was released.
Now the music, lyrics and singing was done by a bunch of students from the same batch. As we all listened to it, the song floated above all our expectations. For an original song by a group of engineering undergrads, it was wonderful.

It is beautiful for the way the music and lyrics blend in. But what makes it special, what makes it the most played song in the campus at present, and what makes everyone listen to it again and again, is the elegant way in which the song summarizes the memories and thoughts of a batch, as it bids farewell to a campus. The song will no doubt appeal to any batch in their final days of college life.
Adding to the magic, it tunes a note of subtle, silent feeling of loss in even the extremists and misfits ;)

Here's the song, titled Peythozhiyathe
Update: Added a translation. See below!

The song is in Malayalam. I thought of adding a translation, but there's a beauty in its lyrics which I think can hardly be replicated in a translation. If anyone can come up with a good translation, feel free to share it here.

Here is a translation of the song. Some of the lyrics are so well crafted that a translation cannot capture all its essence. Anyways:

Peythozhiyathe (It still drizzles)
Now we will come together in the shade,
Under the wings of our sparkling dreams.
The sound of waves from the mighty sea
Drizzles inside my mind.

<Music>
We'll hum to the rhythm of that rain
Come, be the tune of this song.
The song is sad as it goes with our heartbeats
And we'll hum it in silence.
As I fade away today,
There remain only my memories.

<Music>
As my first spring becomes
The echo within these walls (2)
We weave our dreams and sail
To a faraway shore.
We'll no more be in this love nest
Like the ever shining lights.
As I fade away today,
There remain only my memories.

<Music>
As the rain clouds thicken,
My mind is covered by them.
Time withered away like tears,
Desire never bloomed,
And I wander today with a thirst never quenched.
In this valley of life,
Silence will rain down as a sweet song.. (2)

How come staying simple become so complicated?

This is a random post
Every time when I start writing - well, typing - a random post, I think about filling in the title as 'Randomness'. That's the de-facto, huh. You go to a bunch of other blogs (where the authors indeed go random at times) and there, you shall find a cute little post titled 'Randomness'. I, on the other hand, types in Randomness, then backspace it and make up some title which doesn't contain even a distant synonym for the word 'Randomness'.
So once again, I backspaced the Randomness from the space for filling in the title, and came up with what you see above.

Simple plans work best
I gave up on multitasking. It is after a clear realization that multitasking is not my thing.
Basically I'm a perfectionist. And that makes it impossible for me to share my attention among multiple tasks at the same time. So, I just decided to make my schedule more simple. A simple and finite to-do list seems to make a really good plan of the day. For example, I'd wake up and read a book. Then I'd move onto check my mails and stuff. Then may be a movie, or some coding etc etc. Some biking in the evening around all the dusty roads. A perfect balance between virtual life, real life, and real world life.

THE Facebook
Facebook came in, and things were never the same again.
Among the increasing set of stealthy features of this place (designed specifically to encourage us to share more private information without ever giving out the suspicion that it is all sold out to a number of third parties), the most viral would be the ability to see 'Friendships'.

Peeking into other people's life is now easier than ever for those who have realized the potential of this feature. In the early days, one had to search a number of updates in a number of walls to brief on what is happening between two persons(Are they in love? Or are they just friends? What is the status of their bitterness with so and so?).
But today, you fire up the Friendships page, type in the names of both of your friends, and Tada!, you have a comprehensive summary of everything that they did together! Coupled with the fact that people no more feel insecure in sharing just everything on facebook, this is like you met a real close common friend of both, who is completely willing to tell you all about their plans and deeds.
Now, we have all seen in The Social Network movie about Mark's vision of making facebook a one-to-one mapping of real world. But where on earth would you find such a common friend as above, who'd simply tell you all the details about his/her close friends? When facebook make things happen that is beyond the capability of real world relationships, doesn't it sound a bit.. scary?

On a related note, this single feature has opened gates to a number of powerful queries. For a simple example, guys had to take a lot of trouble in reaching out girls they have only seen from their college, even on facebook. But no more. They just need to be (facebook) friends with atleast two boys from her class. Then they just need to open up the Friendship page for these two guys, and in a calm corner of the sidebar, lies their mutual friends. Considering that girls have stopped worrying about uploading their photos a long time ago, guess which face you'll find in that list..? Yes, just the one you were looking for! Teachers could even use such facebook examples to explain the SQL query lessons in a much more interesting way :P

Attention, a virus has been detected!
Being a techy guy who does some coding has its perks. Recently a virus spread through the USB sticks of many of my college mates, causing significant destruction to their files and programs. Its name was Rahul's virus. And guess what everyone would've guessed? :-o
When some people had to face some major destruction in their computer, and as more people started asking me whether I actually made the virus, I had to make explicit announcements that I never even thought of making such a virus. What the heck?!
And once again, if any victims of the attack is reading this post and still thinking its me, please believe, it NOT me!
